Everyone
begins their dive career by taking the initial beginner course,
which is called Open Water scuba training. After your entry level
diver program, further training is an option, not a requirement,
but additional training in specialty areas of diving is a fun and
powerful way to quickly accelerate diving proficiency.
We offer a full menu of specialty courses for those
divers interested in increasing their knowledge and experience.
These programs are offered locally on a regular schedule during
the summer and on most of our escorted dive tours, depending on
the destination.
Each specialty course typically involves a text, a
bit of homework, a touch of lecture, and a minimum of two dives.
Further, we offer a Stress/Rescue course for divers
at any level of experience who want to become better buddies and
better trained at preventing problems and responding appropriately
in the event of a diving emergency. We consider this course to be
essential training for anyone who wants to consider themselves an
advanced diver. The program involves a text, homework, two sessions
in classroom and pool, and two days of open water training.
Under the SSI Total Dive Log system, any diver who
has completed a minimum of four specialties and who has logged a
minimum of 24 dives qualifies for an SSI Advanced Open Water rating.
The rating is earned by logging your dives and logging your training.
The diver can request an Advanced Open Water card from us simply
by showing his or her logbook for verification.
Medical Waiver: If it's been more
than a year since you were in the water, and/or it's your first

for you to get a Physicians Approval before signing up.. Here's
the link
to the Medical history form and physician's guidelines. Please
